Contagion Preview

Contagion is the new action-thriller by Steven Soderbergh with an all-star cast, starring Matt Damon, Gweneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard, Kate Winslet, Bryan Cranston, Jude Law, Laurence Fishburne, Elliot Gould, and Sanna Lathan.  Contagion is about the outbreak of a deadly mutating virus and the worldwide pandemonium that follows.  The movie is centered around a team of doctors working with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to contain the outbreak.  It seems to be a better version of the 90's film Outbreak, sans the Dustin Hoffman euphemisms.  Contagion is set for wide release September 9th.

    I love Gwyneth Paltrow and the CDC so, seems like a great movie to check out. It does seem similar to the movie Outbreak but I'm willing to give it a try anyway.

    Yep, definitely seems similar to Outbreak. If only the virus made people rabid, then we'd have a horror movie.

    In these times is just a horror film on epidemics. The last two films of Soderbergh i've seen are the two "What", but i particularly like "Kafka" in 1991 (in Italy "Delitti e segreti").

    @Sean-- Yes, Outbreak was very close to being a b-movie. Contagion has to be better. I was just watching a snipet of TWD last night. I read all of the graphic novels as well.
