Laurence Fisburne Is The New Perry White

Casting news - Laurence Fishburne is the new Perry White in Superman: Man of Steel, which I think is a good choice.  Unfortunately for CSI Laurence is being replaced by Ted Danson.  Isn't it time for that show to go off the air?  Who still watches it?


Superman: Man of Steel has been pushed back from December 2012, to the summer of 2013.  Henry Cavill stars as the man of steel, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, and Michael Shannon costar.

    I'm sure he will do fine ,and the movie will make it's money back , but I've always seen Perry White as a grumpy old white man in the old comic books and the classic tv shows.
    It's like remaking Gone With The Wind, and having Denzel Washington play Rhett Butler. I've already seen other comic book fans complain about what they are doing with this movie, and it's starting to sound like another super disaster in the making, but I am hoping it won't be, and Laurence Fishburne is able to pull it off. He is a great actor.

    I love the idea of Laurence in this role. He really took a step back to work on CSI in my opinion and I'm glad he's done with that horrible show.

    @Max-- I'm really-really into Superman, so I understand what you're saying. I guess the way I look at it, this comic is over 70 yrs old. So there wasn't much diversity back then.

    And I agree, if anyone can do it, Laurence can.

    @Film Geek-- I agree. I think if they can make Starbuck a woman then Laurence Fishburne can be Perry White.

    @Sub Radar-- He does have a great speaking voice. I really enjoyed him as Morpheus.

    @Melissa-- I agree about the CSI thing. I think he took a big step back. I'm glad he's getting back to his roots.
