Titan Shrugged

I'm sure you've heard about the new sequel to Clash of the Titans, aptly titled, Wrath of the Titans. I don't know why anything surprises me anymore, but I'm a little surprised when a 3D monstrosity like Clash of the Titans (2010) gets greenlit for a sequel. After all, the 1981 classic film with Harry Hamlin and bad claymation was just fine, thank you very much.

Clash of the Titans 2010 wasn't unique, nor well designed. In fact, Medusa's Lair from Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and the "costuming" from Tarsem Singh's The Immortals, were far superior. The only cool thing in Clash of the Titans 2010 was Liam Neeson, who by his very nature is always cool. Neeson looked like something out of Excalibur and seemed somewhat out of place.

I like Sam Worthington and he's quickly become one of my favorite actors, but forgive my distrust of him when he promises this time will be better. Worthington went so far as to apologize for the previous film, as the film was panned by critics and audiences alike. I "may" give the new film a chance, as it will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, who directed one of my guilty pleasures in 2011, Battle: Los Angeles. 

Better yet, if Worthington gives me my $10 back, then we'll talk. Wrath of the Titans releases nationwide March 30, 2012. Check out the trailer.

    I was bored to death by the newest Clash and while this one looks exciting, I don't want vision of CGI and posing gods. Neeson was the only one with any real life in the thing. I'm still on the fence with this one.

    I saw the origanal and it was bland I think the new one will live up to the standards set.
