She joins the ranks of fellow sci-fi "it" girls, Summer Glau, Milla Jovovich, Nichelle Nichols, Linda Hamilton, and the original sci-fi "it" girl, Princess Leia herself, Carrie Fisher. I've listed just a few of the reasons Day belongs on the list:
- The geeks flock to her at the science fiction conventions. I personally witnessed this at last year's Dragon Con;
- Her resume (Day's been a "slayer in training" in Buffy the Vampire Slayer; starred in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog; created her own cult-status web series The Guild, which makes geeks weep with delight; finished a season-long role on Eureka; and most recently starred in one of my favorite shows, Supernatural.); and
- Lastly, my husband, who is a bona fide sci-fi/gamer geek, won't stop talking about her.
I love Supernatural, great series!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the only person in the world that doesn't really like Felicia Day....kind of annoying. -_-
ReplyDeleteSo sad they killed her off on Eureka though.
ReplyDeleteFelicia is fabulous! And she's a true geek through and through.
ReplyDeleteR-- Me too! I can't get enough of that show.
ReplyDeleteTom-- I used to feel the same way. I still think (in a superficial way) that's she a little too quirky and "toothy," but overall she does a good job representing us scifi geeks.
Alex-- I know. I'm sad period when it comes to that show. I can't believe it will be gone soon.
Christine-- She really is. That's what I like about her.
This is great!
ReplyDeleteHave no ide who this person is.
ReplyDeleteI just recently found the Guild via Netflix, and love it!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen this person before but enjoyed the videos, i shall chase up the films. Good to have you back writing.
ReplyDeleteI like most things I've seen her in. I've never played an online game in my life, but I really enjoyed The Guild when I watched it.
ReplyDelete@Alex J. Cavanaugh - thanks for the massive spoiler. A warning would have been nice.
