Doesn't rock my boat either. Yes, Snow White and the Huntsman was a big disappointment, so I am leery of any fairy tale retellings right now.
ReplyDeletei have issues... leave it a mystery of a cartoon... i am not sure who i am suppose to root for.
ReplyDeleteAlex-- I'm very leery! The makeup and costuming look great tho.
ReplyDeleteJeremy-- Couldn't agree more.
They got the look of the cartoon right, but not the feel. Disney movies weren't meant to be dark and Gothic even when they had dark themes.
ReplyDeleteThis will be huge with the kid folk. I like the Del Rey rendition.
ReplyDeleteMaurice-- True. It actually may turn out to be somewhat light. Maleficent is looking decidedly unscary.
ReplyDeleteMovies-- I don't know if I've seen the Del Rey one? I'll have to look that up.

I think it's gonna be a typical Disney cash grab with typical teal/purple colors, overdone CGI and ridiculous story plastered to form some sort of script BUT hopefully it will be worth if because of Jolie's performance.
ReplyDeleteSati-- You have a point. I think her casting just might lift the movie above the fray.
