'Doctor Who' Set Photos, GoTs Posters, + New 'Maleficent' Trailer

Jenna Coleman on the set of 'Doctor Who'

'Doctor Who' season 8 set photos. Catch a glimpse of what they're up to.

Moody 'Game of Thrones' posters - These posters are so deliciously 'Game of Thrones.' My favorite one is about Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo, titled "Come Back to Me My Sun and Stars." HBO has joined forces with artist Robert Ball to create these stylish posters. The series is called "Beautiful Death."
Artist Robert Ball, "King Robert Baratheon Murdered by a Pig"
Fanmade 'Star Wars' Episode VII poster - Considering how good some of the fans are, this will probably be better than the art commissioned by the studio. It's actually pretty darn good.
Midtown Comics
The 'Doctor Who' lego set is coming. Now accepting concept art for 'Doctor Who' lego set. Yes, please.

Disney Princesses reimagined as roller derby girls. Yeah it's cool.
Artist Amanda Robinson
Cyclops kitty - There are many different kinds of funny cat pics, so why not a Cyclops cat?

Museum dedicated to bad art - We've all heard of folks enjoying bad movies, why not bad art? Yep. Now there's a museum just chock full of bad art. The curators are very picky. The work must be unintentionally bad, not kitsch. According to the article, the first piece of bad art was fished out of someone's trash and thus a museum was born. And we thank them.
An attempt at 'The Mona Lisa'
These images from beautiful rare books of science and astronomy are just gorgeous. A reminder that "good" art is really a universal concept.

New 'Maleficient' trailer - The more I see about this movie, the more excited I get. Now 'Maleficent' has wings! Yes, wings. I think one of the earlier trailers I saw didn't do the film justice. This trailer makes the film look great. Excited!

  1. Oh I love Jenna's outfit on that set.

Maleficent trailer is great, I just hope the movie will be better than recent live action films from Disney.

  2. Sati-- I agree. I love that look, it's kinda "Annie-Hall-like." I am really hoping 'Maleficent' is better than some of the other live action they've done recently. I think it's fair to be concerned. This is the director's first time directing. He's been a visual effects guy (an amazing one--he did 'Life of Pi'), but he's still never directed before. This is how John Carter went wrong. 'John Carter' was directed by a former animated director, directing his first live action feature. But then again, Brad Bird was an animated director and he's done a great job with live action. So I'm hopeful, but still a little skeptical.

  3. I like Jenna Coleman in that power suit. My son and I collect LEGOS, well he does I just enjoy playing with him. You know me I need the 4th Doctor, and maybe Sarah Jane Smith. The Maleficent trailer makes this a must see for me now, before I was on the fence.

    2. He likes Sylvester McCoy and Matt Smith, so I would let him play with my ToM Baker. :-)
