'Rosemary's Baby' Remake, GoTs Exhibit, Wonder Woman Shoes! + Links

Bleeding Cool
Ok, I'm working on some really great posts, but I haven't quite finished them yet, so in the meantime, I'm going to recap 'My Favorite Things' today...again. I've just seen so many great things lately!

Zoe Saldana is the new Mia Farrow in the made for television remake of 'Rosemary's Baby.' You know I like Zoe Saldana, but I don't know how to feel about this one. I'm not a Mia Farrow fan, but this goes into that (very plentiful) category of: DID THIS REALLY NEED TO BE REMADE? 'Rosemary's Baby' is a classic horror film, like 'Carrie.' Which was also (unsuccessfully)  remade last year. You can see my take on last year's 'Carrie' here. I of course will still watch it. Patrick J. Adams of 'Suits' plays Rosemary's dastardly husband in this version. It will be a four-part mini-series, which seems a little long to me. Ok. I really need to stop complaining. Moving on...

I want these so bad, but I have flat feet. Thankfully they do have some 'Wonder Woman' flats, among other footwear. They also have super cute 'Star Wars' heels. Geek girls like fashion too! Y'all know how I feel about 'Wonder Woman.'

Do you want to visit a real world movie set? Or even an abandoned movie set? Well, yes you can. You can visit the fictional town of Port Royal, Jamaica. Yes, Port Royal was once a real place, but it has long since been destroyed by earthquakes, but you can see the the colonial-era Port Royal movie set that Disney created in Wallilabou Bay on the island of St. Vincent for 'Pirates of the Caribbean.' There are a couple others on the list too, including the Fugitive's train accident, Looper's diner, the entire town as seen in 'Big Fish.' This is a pretty cool list by Cracked.com.

Yay for more 'Star Wars' parodies. The newest one is 'The Jedi Doth Return' (which is 'Return of the Jedi' in Shakespearean format). Yes, Shakespearean. If you like other mashups like 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,' then you may like this too. You can buy it online here.

If you've read this blog at all, then you know that I have a slight obsession with 'Game of Thrones.' Check out these pictures from the 'Game of Thrones' exhibit this past week at SXSW Festival. An enterprising fan, named Brent Peeples, took 45 photos from the exhibit. And we thank him.

  1. The Guinea pig in the popcorn was crazy.
Already filled out my bracket for Geek Madness. I won't win, but I can live with my choices.
I still want to go to New Zealand and see the Hobbit holes.

    1. Seriously! It was awesome though. I love guinea pigs. Yes, I heard about Geek Madness. I didn't get in, in time. Sometimes I think some of the winning choices are all w/in the last 10 years (and not much before that).

  4. Thank you for the link! I'm not sure about Rosemary's Baby remake -Zoe's wig looks really bad btw.

    1. Sati-- I was just about to put something in there about how awful that wig was. You're so right, the wig...is...awful. Seriously, she's an actress couldn't she have cut her hair? Robert DeNiro gained like 100 lbs for 'Raging Bull.' So IMO an actor/actress can cut their hair or shave their head if need be. Or couldn't they have got her a better wig? Or why didn't she have to have the short hair cut at all? Isn't this a remake? They could have gone in a different direction.

    1. Katy, again I'm so sorry to hear about it. My cat died quite some time ago. Probably about 10 years ago. I just wanted to say that I understand what it's like. It's a very painful experience. Made all the more painful when people try to trivialize it. So I was thinking of you this week!

  6. ROSEMARY'S BABY remake has a rather lovely cast, but I agree that, like any other remake, it didn't need to be done :)

    1. Hi Paul! How true. Those heels are not very practical are they? Women's clothing never seems to be! I would love to visit that diner too. That would be fun.
