GG is Wonder Woman,! New Interstellar Trailer, Dr. Who S8 Set Photos + More

It's official. Gal Gadot is the sexiest woman alive...this week. Oh...my...goodness. She looks incredible as Wonder Woman. Admittedly, I'm super excited with the idea of Wonder Woman coming to the big screen, as most people who visit my blog can attest to, but Gal's pic as Wonder Woman is so exquisite it's just too much to bear. I didn't care to go to SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) this year, for various reasons, but if there's one thing that I'm grateful to #SDCC for, it's for a sneak peak at new films.

I'm not a fan of Zach Synder's films and I'm really worried about the new "Batman v' Superman" film (if 'Man of Steel' was any indication), but a hearty thanks to Synder for tweeting this pic. Although I had to find this more colorful version of her costume elsewhere. I'm not sure why they removed the color from her costume in the pic they posted, but anywhoo...here's the new WW with the appropriate colors. Gal is looking fierce!

Trailers
The new "Interstellar" trailer is so incredible, I have no words. I don't know the last time I've been in awe of a "true" science fiction film. Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway are a pair of celestial astronauts who take to the stars in order to save the human race. The new trailer gives us a few more details about the film. It certainly doesn't hurt that the Christopher Nolan is directing. I don't think that man knows how to do a bad film. Click on the picture to watch the trailer.

Cosplay
Someone took Bobba Fett and his "bounty" literally. I love it.

Really?
Chris Hemsworth gives an update on 'Thor 3.' So somehow Marvel is making room for 'Thor 3,' but they (meaning Kevin Feige, President and Producer) can't seem to make get a 'Black Widow' film together. Really?

So 'Sharknado 2' debuted last night. If you're on twitter you couldn't avoid it, especially if you follow the Blastr website--geez get a hobby. If you're full time job is tweeting about "Sharknado" then it's time to quit. To be fair, I think Blastr is owned by the SyFy Channel.

Admittedly, I watched it as I surfed the web. Am I the only one who thinks the SyFy Channel has overplayed it's hand? I wish SyFy would at least try to make a half-way decent film? I don't get why people find this franchise so endearing. Yes, ha, ha, we get it sharks are flying. I personally prefer the idea this guy had on Reddit-- how about a "bear-i-cane?"

News
More set photos from 'Doctor Who' Season 8. I'm really digging Peter Capaldi. I was a big fan of Matt Smith and David Tennant, but I can't wait for an older, edgier Doctor. August 23rd. August 23rd. August 23rd!

Ever since the disappointing 'Last Ship' and 'The Strain' debuted, I've been looking for a suitable replacement. A few new shows have peaked my interest. Has anyone heard of 'Dig' or 'Ascension?' 'Dig' is an archaeological thriller in the same vein as 'The Da Vinci Code.'

'Ascension' is set in present times with a twist. In 1963 hundreds of people were sent on a 100 year journey into space. They are fifty years into their journey when a young woman is murdered on the ship. The trailer reminds me a little bit of 'Dark City.' Scifi darling Tricia Helfer stars. 'iZombie' is also looking quite promising, despite debuting on the CW. iZombie is about a young coroner forced to steal brains from the dead people she works on to quell her hunger. CW should thank it's lucky stars for 'Supernatural' and most recently 'Arrow.' Hopefully 'iZombie' will bring up the rear.

    1. Oh no-- don't watch Sharknado. It's just a twitter phenom. I can't wait for Interstellar!

  2. Caught the Interstellar trailer yesterday and just - wow! Now I am excited about it. I didn't have any doubts since it's Nolan, but the new trailer is much more dynamic and interesting.
That picture of Wonder Woman is perfect.
Caught a little bit of Sharknado 2 last night, but didn't want to stay up to watch all of it. We recorded it and I will attempt to do a play-by-play this weekend.

    1. Isn't it just incredible? I can't wait for that film. Sharknado 2 is just too much. I'm kinda tired of the SyFy Channel.

  3. I am totally geeked for Intersteller. I have been looking forward to it for a long long time. Plus I mean c'mon, it's Christopher Nolan!

  4. Interstellar looks really good, Gadot is STUNNING, and according to ScarJo's IMDB page, Black Widow is in the works!

I have yet to see either Sharknado movie, but I actually DVR'd both of them last night. I need to find out what all this fuss is about.

    1. I know! yes! I've seen ScarJo's page (as well as Gal's--indicating she will be in more #WW films), however, until I see it actually go into production I don't trust it. Kevin Feige was quoted as basically saying Black Widow wasn't going to happen anytime soon b/c they already have so many strong women in so many Marvel films that they don't need a black widow film. I have to find the quote but it's buried somewhere in my blog.

    1. Doesn't it though! I can't wait to see more. I'm super pumped when I see true scifi!

  6. I've never been a big Wonder Woman fan, but that picture looks AWESOME!

I don't think Nolan is capable of doing a bad film either. Interstellar has been my #1 must see all year.

I didn't watch Sharknado 2, was it as awful as the original? Or did they try too hard?

    1. Oh they tried way too hard. They had all of these crappy cameos. It was just too much. Don't watch it.

Isn't that pic awesome. Loving #WW. Interstellar is probably my most anticipated film this year.

  7. I'm glad Gal Gadot beefed-up for the role... I thought see was previously way too skinny to be Wonder Woman. I still have doubts on the movie. I'm not a fan of Zack Snyder. I didn't like Watchmen and I thought Sucker Punch was one the worst movies I ever saw in a cinema. I had hopes for Man Of Steel just because of Nolan, but in way that too disappointed (mostly). Plus, DC seems to be rushing things just to catch up with Marvel.

Interstellar on the other hand looks great. Glad Nolan is directing again!

    1. It's a rare thing, but I agree with everything you just said. Every word. I too was worried about Gal. Glad she beefed up. WW is an amazon for goodness sake! Thankfully Gal delivered. I can't stand Synder. Sucker Punch sealed the deal. One of the worst films I've ever seen. It was like did someone not take him aside and say, "yeah buddy making a movie about abused girls in an insane asylum whilst scantily clothed isn't a good idea."

  8. You'll probably know more about this - what is with those Thor being a woman now thing? Are they making a separate movie? I'm so confused!
Interstellar trailer is wonderful, looks like very emotional film. Matthew is gonna kill it again.

    1. Ha, I heard about that. I think that was a twisted joke. Not sure who thought that would be funny, but no I don't think Thor will be a woman.

Can't wait for Interstellar!! Matthew is going to kill it. He's always been one of my fav actors.

  9. I've never seen Ascension but had high hopes for The Last Ship so I'll check it out. Second, Capaldi has really embraced the fans so I know I'll enjoy him. That Wonder Woman costume is awesome. I'm wondering how much dinking they did with the color but I like the gold accents. I'm hoping to watch Sharknado tonight, but I won't miss Interstellar.

    1. I think Capaldi is going to be one of the greats. He's a true Who fan, so I'm actually really excited for him. I hope he stays on for a few years and the rumors of him only doing one season are not true. Oh and don't watch 'The last ship!' It's boring. :)

  12. Did some one say August 23rd? I plan on the Monday afterward going to see it again in the local movie theater.
I like Snyder especially when he has Larry Fong to help him with his visualisation. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought MOS was a decent flick.

    1. I thought the beginning was wonderful. The Krypton scenes were very well done, but towards the end it's like "how many buildings can these super beings knock down?" Really? It was just to much.

  13. Gal Gadot is gorgeous indeed! I initially thought, like many others, that she might be too skinny to play the role. But I think she looks good here, and I quite like the costume. I know some people hated it as it looks like Xena's but I have no issues w/ it. I'm still not super excited about the movie tho, we shall see...

    1. She definitely proved me wrong. I was all about Gina Carano playing WW. I didn't think Gal could physically pull it off b/c she was so slender, but she looks great. It looks like she built up some serious muscle. You're spot on about the Xena comment. One of my friends said the same thing.

  14. I've decided to avoid Interstellar trailers, I want to go into the movie knowing as little as possible. I'm glad you say it's incredible anyway :)
Ian Ziering in sharknado 2, and part of chippendales. Whatever next?

    1. I can't say I blame you. I almost wish I had avoided Interstellar trailers b/c I have a feeling it's going to be a real treat. yes, poor Ian Ziering. I know he thinks this is funny, but we're not laughing with Sharknado-- or at Sharknado. We're just not laughing.
